"Man makes his plans, but the Lord determines his steps."
This has been my life verse and has served me well. I spent the first seven years of my marriage in hopes to become a mom, and was blessed with my oldest daughter through adoption. I waited another six years and gave birth for the first time to a little girl. Along the way, I learned and grew in so many ways.
I share my journey through my blog Blessed Life with Children, where I talk about marriage, children, faith, and life.
As a career, I am a writer. I write many articles for online websites through HubPages and Maven. I also have been working on a fantasy book under the pen name Agnes Wolfe.
Three years ago, I began to realize that I had too much stuff. I wanted a simpler more satisfying life and decided to independently get rid of stuff. After a very slow process, my husband started a marketing business where he sells houses for others to rehab called House Today Homes Tomorrow LLC. Many of these homes were cluttered with junk, which then led us to start a junk removal franchise called Junk King. Once we began that my husband's eyes were opened to how much stuff we as Americans have.
It was then that he too got on board with me. I have begun getting others in my family on board and we are minimizing our lifestyle not just our home in hopes to live a richer life.
We want to be able to spend more time as a family, and less with our stuff. We want our life to reflect the priorities that we believe we have. We also want to be able to give to others and be less "me-focused" and more others focused.
